In the Pink is the only programme in Africa dedicated soley to the GLBT (Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transexual) community in Cape Town. The show covers all issues affecting the GLBT community with main focus on health and events. Every Thursday from 20:00 to 21:00. This show features great non-genre specific music but sticking with Bush’s policy of 60% local, playing anything from jazz right through to the most upbeat Hip Hop. Interviews and discussions with experts in various fields i.e. psychologist on how to deal with the afflictions of coming out, as well as news and entertainment.

Jewish OutLook

Jewish OutLook is the new South African Jewish Organisation catering for the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgendered and Intersex Community. It has been formed by a group of dynamic individuals in the wake of the highly successful tour of the film called ?Trembling Before G-D? to South Africa along with its director Sandi Dubowski and the Gay Orthodox Rabbi Steven Greenberg. This highlighted the need to form a LGBTI Group here in South Africa.

Durban Lesbian & Gay Community and Health Centre

The Durban Lesbian & Gay Community & Health Centre (a project of the KZN Coalition for Gay & Lesbian Equality) offers a safe and secure space for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communitites of Durban and KwaZulu-Natal. The Centre houses an extensive resource centre on lesbian, gay, social, political, health, youth, sexuality, disability, and many other community issues; and a collection of gay, lesbian, HIV/AIDS and related clippings in its archive. These will, over time, be made available on this website under the NEWS AND POLITICS section.


Forum for the Empowerment of Women (FEW), established in January 2002, is a networking, empowerment and support organisation of and for black lesbians in and around Johannesburg. Our objectives include the provision of a safe space, social and otherwise, in which black lesbians can be free to express themselves, and interact in healthy, non-threatening ways; development, empowerment and skills education for black lesbians; and political representation of their interests.

Our society deals with the needs, concerns and issues of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) students on campus. However, our membership is open to everyone who supports our aims and values, regardless of sexual orientation. We have a two-pronged approach to our work: an inward-looking one where we attend to and nurture our members and an outward-looking one where we work to educate and inform the Wits community about LGBTI issues and make campus a safe and free environment for LGBTI students.

The Inner Circle is an advocate for a minority within minorities along a 3-dimentional plane - gay and Muslim, while simultaneously offering the world the unique South African experience.

Gays & Lesbians of Zimbabwe

The Gays and Lesbians of Zimbabwe (GALZ) is a universitas voluntary association. It was founded in 1990 for purposes of serving the needs and interests of LGBTI people in Zimbabwe and pushing for social tolerance of sexual minorities and the repeal of homophobic legislation.

Joint Working Group (JWG)

The Joint Working Group often speaks on gay and lesbian issues and in the past has commented on matters such as the Civil Union act, the ban by the South African Blood Transfusion Services on the donation of blood by gay men.

IAM (Inclusive and Affiming Ministries)

IAM has a vision of a welcoming and affirming South African religious society where LGBTI people can participate fully and grow in their spiritial, psychological and sexual identity as human beings. IAM works towards this vision through programmes that support and empower the LGBTI community and stimulate dialogue as the alternatie to debate regarding sexual orientation.

Pride Shelter Trust

This non-profit organisation is currently raising funds to establish and manage a shelter offering short-term accommodation to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people during crisis periods.

Reformerende Kerk Johannesburg
