Researcher(2 year contract, renewable subject to continued funding)
Starting date 1 October 2008
Gender DynamiX is a Human Rights NGO promoting freedom of expression of  Gender identity, focussing on transgender, transsexual & gender non-conforming matters.
Incumbent will work on Research projects that aim to collect information about medical and mental aspects as they relate to trans people, data base collection for monitoring and evaluation as per funder’s protocol, statistics, and developing of an advocacy tool to ensure access to medical and mental health services at public service institutions. In addition to this the researcher will be expected to advocate for the inclusion of transgender issues in training curriculums and research agendas in academic institutions.
Minimum Requirements: • Post graduate qualification in a relevant field Medical, Health or Social Sciences, Legal or Anthropology • 3 years experience in a research environment • Proven research track record • Monitoring & Evaluation skills • Report writing • Willingness to travel • Code 8 Drivers licence.

Closing date: 7 August 2008
Salary: R 144 000.00 per annum, cost to company.
